I have IPB 2 but where am I meant to get chmod?

Wow...if you don't know that, you shouldn't have a board....right click on the file in your ftp and look for the word called CHMod

Dont keep on searching for word chmod cause every ftp has different protocols , so basically do what he said right click file or folder and look for options that would allow setting permissions , it could be called preferences or something else .

Another method could be if you have cpanel 10 or older , go to your folder or file and click on it and on the right you will list of options appear , click on the permissions option you see there and that is basically chmodding.
