Last week while checking my site from another computer, the ads were
not visible. But it worked fine with my computer. I checked other sites
with google ads, but none of them showed the ads on that computer. Does
anyone know what the problem is?

Probably the browser had javascript disabled. You can try it in your
own browser by turning javascript off in your browser and viewing your
page. You need to add
noscript tags with alternate advertising to cater for these types of
users (quite prevalent in some markets). I dont think adsense offers
none javascript code, but you may want to check that out.

It was not problem with Javascript. I checked it in IE, Firefox and
Opera. Result was negative in all the three cases.

I had a simialar experience, and it was the firewall that dissallowed
JavaScript code. A right-click view source showed that the JavaScript
code was removed and replaced by an HTML comment.

Sometimes when there is no advertising they show empty banner or social advertising
