I know nothing about graphics and in order to guid my site into the future I think I will need this skill does anyone think the have the time to show me the ropes lol I have photoshop cs2 on a mac.

The basics isn't that hard, you could go to pixel2life.com or good-tutorials.com for ps tutorials. Also, you can find video tuts at deviantart.com in the resources section, probably best way to learn.
