Default Looking for great poll...

Hi Everyone,

I've been looking for about 3 years now for a good poll script to replace what I'm currently using.

I've been using the same crappy script, and need a new one badly. I'd preferably want a 'free' one, but if there's one that costs money that is really good, I'd get that.

Here's some of the problems with mine:

1. Upon 'voting', users are taken away to a page, and since the templating system is so crappy, the entire page is blank with the results (i.e. it's not in my sites template anymore)

2. Users can comment on the poll, which is fine, but there is no decent spam protection or easy admin area to clean it up - I have to clean the flatfile db by hand.

(You can try it; bottom right at www.movie-vault.com)

What I'm looking for in a new poll script:

1. SSI Inclusion - must have.
2. Results should appear on the same page/spot.3. Must have some anti-cheating device (i.e. 1 vote per IP)
3. Poll output should be easily editable (to match site colours, etc.)

Thanks in advance! If I can't find one or nobody is able to help me here, I may just have to hire somebody.. which is extremely unfortunate, as you'd think a poll script would be easily attainable in this day and age...

Thanks again.. here's hoping..

Not sure of any particular site...

But try these two sites for now:

tufat.com
prozilla.com

Hope that helped!

Hey Tyler

What about a script that reloads and shows the results but doesn't refresh the page, just like vbulletin loads replies to new posts.

Does it really matter what they are coded in?

Doesn't matter if it's PHP or Perl, but must be invoked through SSI (not copy/pasting stupid PHP code into a PHP file...)

As long as the results show the next time(s) the user visits the page... and when the button is clicked, it should reload the page (why wouldn't it?)

You can try searching hotscripts.com but if that doesnt work you can hire me to make a custom poll script.
