I suppose that I am fortunate in that I am a writer (And even
create some of the materials that people frequently purchase for 97,
197 and 297 LOL Though I do not use it on my site as I write it as
canned copy and forfeit the rights to it) You seem to be fairly capable
with the proverbial pen, so why not try spending some time with your
project. Working at home is still going to be work and unfortunately
there is no way around that. Try gathering all of the information about
subjects that are relevant to your site and take the time to write them
out. At this point in time I manage a PR1 and I honestly do not know
how. I have not advertised my site and most of my content is for
separate materials, so I have no targeted traffic to speak of. I will
be working on changing that in the near future. However, quantity and
quality both seem to be very relevant. Writing your own materials,
especially ten or twenty pages of related content may not be the
quickest way to go, but you will know that it is relevant and original.
That is what I am going to be working on as I have time, but for now I
have all separate articles all relating to different topics. I would
not recommend that approach.
